Another curling season has commenced and we have just completed week 2 of 24. Our roster is again strong as we have approximately 150 full and part time curlers along with 20 little rock/bantams. At this point and time, all leagues for the fall session are full, although that is not to say we cannot accommodate more people on our spare lists.

We recently installed led lighting above the ice surface and have now replaced all lighting throughout the club. We would like to thank the volunteers who helped make this possible; Ron Beaupre, John Allison, Steve and Jack Barkley, Wally Baker, Dave King and Chuck Irvine.

This past weekend Jack Barkley hosted an Octoberfest bonspiel. 2/6 end games with Oktoberfest sausage for lunch. The early draw, won by a team called JAR’D-Al Harriman, Dave King, Rosemary Campbell and Jamie Guilford were 1 point ahead of the 2^nd place Old Timers skipped by Pete Zeran. The 2^nd draw was won by the Late Comers with Greta McGann, Kathy Killick, Gail Lafreniere and Linda Murphy. Close behind were the 2^nd place Killer B’s skipped by Mike Bonyun. A thank you to all who helped make this day a success; Joanne Baker, Susan McIntosh, Elizabeth Locke, Buddy Perry, Wally Baker, Dave McIntosh and Jack Barkley.

Our learn to curl program has commenced but we could still fit you in if you so desire. No cost to give it a try. Start time between 6:30-7:00 pm on Mondays throughout the fall.
