On April 7th, daytime curling competition saw the Maurice Kolff foursome win the 6-end event, defeating all comers, and Wally Baker’s team winning the 1-game 8-end high in a squeaker over Wendy Casselman’s and Ginette Paquette’s teams. (By the way, Our thanks to Patsy Casselman for the festive decorations she gave the tables.) After the closing banquet, the club championships provided the entertainment for the fans. Peter Zeran, Rick Astley, Ken Paice and Mike Legault won the seniors’ championship over Sid Morrell, Ron Beaupre, Fred “Boomer” Langlotz, and Terry Davis.  Ian and John Wilson, (alternate), Scott Lane, Michael Staebler and Ewan Wilson won the club championship, defeating Greta McGann, Ardnt Vogel, Al Harriman and Mike Bunion. Congratulations to all who competed!

The day closed with a brief annual meeting. The financial data for the season was provided and a general report on the year’s events was given by Mahlon Locke, our president.

It has been a pleasure working with volunteers, the executive, and our intrepid ice technician, Wally Baker, over the years. The club is in good financial shape, and we offer our best wishes to the Morrisburg Curling Club in the years ahead.
